Indigo has been used as a dye in many cultures, historically extracted from a special plant and revered for its uniqueness . It's deep and evocative blue tones have held a fascination for makers for centuries. Instructor Jane Jacobs guides students through the shibori process of dyeing, using the distinctive blues of indigo. Silk scarves and 100% cotton infinity scarves as well as a small amount of fabric and clothing suitable for dying will be part of the material fee. 

*Please wear clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty! 

Learning Outcome: Shibori techniques, making an indigo vat and creating unique indigo dyed textiles.
