Lets learn to paint our glorious florals in their natural environment as well as mixed bunches of colourful bouquets. You will learn to create spring and summer floral paintings using an impressionistic and more loosely styled approach to your artwork. Experiment with different techniques and tools as you broaden your horizons using unusual and vibrant colour palettes. Be it floral fields or garden flowers this will be the beginning of a wonderful journey as you step into the world of painting the world around you!

a. Learning to use complementary colours to their best advantage.

b. Adding tools and stencils to enhance your artwork

c. Learning how to loosen up your brushstrokes to create your very own impressionistic paintings

MATERIALS LIST

Jacintha's preferred acrylic paint colours are listed below. Please don’t feel obliged to get them all! She likes to use Golden and/or Liquitex brand. Tri Art also works well. 

She tends to use heavy body paints as colours are sharper and richer
Bring whatever colours you have - the art of substitution is a lesson in itself!

Titanium white
Primary magenta
Cadmium or Naphthol red (for poppies)
cadmium yellow (medium or dark)
Burnt sienna
Ultramarine blue
Paynes grey
Any shade of purple
Teal

SUGGESTIONS FOR PAINTING SURFACES.
If you have other sizes already at home feel free to use them.
Jacintha will paint her demos on an assortment of these sizes, and  will let you know ahead of time which ones she will be using for what day.
You will be painting 3 paintings for this 4 session workshop
One 16” x 20” canvas, canvas paper or board with already gessoed surface
One 12”x 16” canvas, canvas paper or board with already gessoed surface
One 12” x 12”  canvas, canvas paper or board with already gessoed surface

BRUSHES
2-3 Flat tipped synthetic angled brushes ranging from ¼” - 1”
Jacintha uses De Serres Zen brushes. She finds them quite good as well as economical!

DRAWING TOOLS
Soft HB pencils, sharpener and kneaded eraser

OTHER ITEMS
Palette for acrylics (disposable pad is easier)
J cloths, ruler,
¾” - 1” Green or masking tape if using paper.
Table or floor easel
2 empty yogurt tubs for water
