In the morning, students will create their own art journal, made with 140lb watercolour paper. These handmade journals will then be used for an afternoon of plein-air painting outdoors. Students will learn tips and techniques to approach sketching and painting with the elements. The workshop will take place rain or shine.
Material List
ART JOURNAL SUPPLIES: 140lb watercolour paper (full sheet) Arches recommended or other good quality paper, scissors, white glue, pencil, eraser, 36 inch ruler.
BACKPACK: Small watercolour travel palette and brushes, few sheets of paper towels, hat, sunscreen, cell phone, jacket, Pigma Micron pens, bug spray, sunglasses, and water.
STUDENT'S CARRY: small stool
Learning Outcome: a) learn by observing, interpreting landscapes and expanding their senses of shape and colour b) learn a simple and economic way to create their own art journal c) students will be shown many tools and supplies that make their artistic journey way more enjoyable and easier.
