Batik is a very old art form involving wax resists and saturated colours to create designs! Children will twist and tie fabric to create patterns, explore colour theory and make wild and wonderful colour combinations to wear, take a nap with as a cool pillowcase...or let your creativity (literal) flag fly!
* Upcycled sheets will be provided, but if your child would like to use a fresh new sheet as their project base, please supply one!
Learning Outcome: Explore different tie dye and tying processes, types of dyes and resist. Understanding step by step development of an idea and the creative process.
