In our modern times of photoshop and perfectionism, children sometimes find it hard to deal with unwanted marks, little mistakes or spills “ruining” their masterpiece. But truth is, most great inventions and amazing artworks started with “happy accidents.” In this class we’ll start the other way around: Instead of having a subject in mind, children will start with little spills, marks and splatter on their blank paper which may trigger their imagination. After the spills and splatters have dried, we’ll create amazing artwork by giving the “happy accidents” purpose and direction.
Learning Outcome: Learning watercolour techniques, e.g. wet in wet, use of salt. Learning to see shapes in “abstract” watercolour painting. Use of fine liners/dip pens. Learning to sketch from nature, studying leaves; basic knowledge of how to draw faces.
