Students will explore Fairy Lake and the beach to gather materials found in nature to create incredible art projects!
Young artists start the week with a hike around Fairy Lake and create a "journey stick" while gathering  fallen leaves, bark, pine cones and other found treasures to use for relief printing in clay. Explore connections between materials and form, using sticks to make a marionette or turning handmade paper into a personal journal. Driftwood, feathers, stones and more focus creative thought as students investigate pattern and contrast through the creation of nature mandalas.

Learning outcomes: To appreciate nature and the art that surrounds us in nature.  To create art (sculpture, weaving, clay prints, paper, mandalas) using things that nature provides.
